ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The number one complaint from animal shelters is the overcrowding, so to help with the problem, a huge adoption event was held Saturday to get many of those pets adopted.
Over 400 animals were taken home from the biggest animal adoption event in the state, Fetch-a-Palooza.
Different shelters brought pets to the campus of the Albuquerque Journal with hopes of finding them a loving home.
?We have a lot of pets that need homes and they don't need to be locked up in cages or in shelters for the rest of their lives an all of us can help with that too by giving them good homes,? Dr. Tim Fitzpatrick said.
Officials from fetch-a-paolooza said 416 pets were adopted.
Although that number is down from last year, officials are happy with the turnout.
