PORTLAND, Ore., March 23 (UPI) -- Jamal Crawford's two free throws with 9 seconds left Thursday clinched a 97-93 victory for the Portland Trail Blazers over Memphis.
Neither side had more than a seven-point lead during a game that saw the Grizzlies lose for the second straight time. The Grizzlies are 0-2 on a four-game road swing that will take them to Los Angeles for meetings with both the Lakers and Clippers.
Crawford had four free throws and Wesley Matthews added two more in the final 21 seconds to help the Trail Blazers hold off the Grizzlies.
Nicolas Batum led Portland with 25 points while Matthews had 18 and Crawford scored 17. Portland went 25-of-25 from the foul line.
Marc Gasol scored 22 points for Memphis.
