    • ?Specific editing for grammar, usage, mechanics, and clarity gives writing its precision and legitimacy

Performance Objectives:

Upon completion of this lesson, the student will be able to?

  • Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, relevant descriptive details, and well-structured event sequences.
  • ?Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.

Materials:

  • Books:
    • ?Snicket, L. (2010). 13 words. New York: NY: Harper Collins.

Preparation

  • Read Lemony Snicket?s 13 Words.

Presentation

  • Teacher will present assignment including using rubrics.
  • Teacher will pass around a ?hat? with enough words for each student to select 13
  • Students will write a story using limited/unrelated words
  • Required:
    • Create a unique story
    • Must use every word selected
    • Illustrate their story using various media (pen and ink, pencil, colored pencil, paint, marker, collage, etc.)
