'Seven Habits' Author Stephen Covey Dies at 79

CNN (Cable News Network) announced the death of Stephen Covey. This well known author, of best-selling book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, died at 79 on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Bike Accident

Covey, according to Wikipedia, died due to complications from a previous bicycle accident.

Family Background

Covey's maternal grandfather was Stephen L Richards, an apostle and counselor in the first presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints under David O. McKay.

Other Publications

In addition to his best-selling book, Covey also authored First Things First, Principle-Centered Leadership and The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Families.

In 2004 Covey released The 8th Habit. In 2008 Covey released The Leader In Me - How Schools and Parents Around the World Are Inspiring Greatness, One Child at a Time.

Professor

Covey also taught, as he was a professor at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University.

Family

Covey lived with his wife Sandra and their family in Provo, Utah, home to Brigham Young University. Covey taught there prior to the publication of his best-selling book.

This author was a father of nine and a grandfather of fifty-two. He received the Fatherhood Award from the National Fatherhood Initiative in 2003.
