Question by : i get how Chinese honk their horns constantly because traffic ?laws? are ?suggestions? that few people follow? and obey, but why do they sit on their horns when traffic is deadlocked, with no one to ?warn? and it makes absolutely NO difference? I lived outside the west gate of Renmin Da Xue for a few years and the side road is 1.5 lanes, people park on both sides, so at 7:00 am bringing kiddies o school, parents (and regularly throughout the week for normal traffic) would sit on the horns with every car in parked position?why do you do this, Chinese? Honking horns is very common in America too, especially in crowded east coast cities.. New York City drivers are notorious for their bad manners, violent tempers, and horn honking.
Chinese drivers express opinions through horns. One honk means ?please move?. Two honks means ?get out of the way?. Three honks means ?would you like to join me for dinner tonight?.
